What Makes This Programme Different
Traditional orphan sponsorship often creates dependency – providing ongoing support without building the capacity for children and families to eventually stand on their own. Our programme is designed differently, with three pillars that distinguish it from standard approaches:
1) Dedicated Social Worker Support
Each child is assigned a dedicated social worker. These trained professionals conduct regular home and school visits throughout the programme, monitoring not just immediate welfare but long-term development progress. They track school attendance, identify emerging risks, and ensure the child remains protected from exploitation, neglect, and school dropout.
2) Guardian Capacity Building
We don't just support children, we strengthen the families caring for them. Guardians receive structured training in responsible financial management, helping them allocate resources wisely towards the child's future. This includes guidance on prioritising longer-term education, skills development, and small investments that create pathways out of poverty rather than cycles of dependency.
3) Future-Focused Resource Allocation
Unlike programmes where funds are spent entirely on immediate consumption, our model requires that a portion of resources is directed towards the child's future, whether that's continued education, vocational skills training, or small productive investments. Social workers monitor this allocation, ensuring that each child is building towards self-sufficiency, not permanent reliance on aid.
