Description:

Dyson is ambitious about growth: expanding our global business by growing our people. We prize those rare individuals who challenge, invent and fit the Dyson mind-set. So we invest heavily in preparing them to lead the future of our business. The Talent Development team is at the heart of this – assisting our global leaders in identifying and fulfilling talented people.Through dynamic leadership programmes, workshops, coaching or internal career moves, we make sure they thrive here at Dyson. It’s fulfilling work, watching individuals achieve great things, beyond what they even imagined…but that Dyson expected.

Dyson will open the Institute of Technology in September 2017, offering a high quality alternative to a engineering university education.

We will give a group of school leavers a full time job in our New Product Development team whilst they work towards an engineering degree. The programme will form part of Dyson’s apprenticeship offering. A new part-time general engineering degree course is being written by Dyson and the University of Warwick. We expect to expand the Institute in the future to offer a range of engineering degree disciplines.

Be part of the project team setting up the new Dyson Institute of Technology.

The focus of the role will change as the project progresses. Initially the Development Manager will support the recruitment of the cohort. They will then manage the induction process and support the development of the cohort of school leavers as they join the Dyson business and progress in their course and roles.

The importance of this role means you must be a skilled influencer who can build strong relationships at all levels and work effectively in a rapidly changing matrix management environment. Naturally, you'll have proven learning and talent development experience and ideally some experience in designing and managing apprenticeship programmes. Alternatively, you may hold experience in running apprenticeship schemes for an employer or training provider. Commercially astute, with a real passion for talent, you will have a responsive approach and an ability to make effective commercial judgments and plan and execute effective talent and apprenticeship interventions required to deliver the business strategy.

Dyson monitors the market to ensure competitive salaries and pension contributions. Beyond that, you’ll also enjoy a profit-related bonus, generous leave and life insurance. But financial benefits are only the start of a Dyson career. Rapid professional growth, leadership development and new opportunities abound, driven by regular reviews and dynamic workshops. And with a vibrant culture, flexible working hours, the latest devices and a relaxed dress code reflecting our engineering spirit, it’s an exciting team environment geared to creativity, innovation and ambition.
