AGR Scotland - Steering Group 1608 

AGR Scotland and the North brings together employers, universities and suppliers  across a variety of sectors to support the promotion of early career opportunities in Scotland and the North. Quarterly meetings are organised by the steering group, as listed below, and all members based in Scotland and the North are very welcome to attend and contribute to the discussions.

Steering Group for AGR Scotland & the North

Hazel McAllister is an Employer Engagement Adviser at the University of Strathclyde. Prior to joining the Careers Service, Hazel worked in generalist Human Resources roles before specialising in resourcing, both graduate and experienced hire within global, national and SMEs across the insurance, professional service, financial services and technology sectors.

Hazel is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, AGCAS and is Level A & B and MBTI qualified and has been an active member of AGR since 1999.

Deborah McCormack is the Head of Recruitment & Graduate Development at Pinsent Masons. Originally a Corporate Solicitor, practising in both London and Scotland, Deborah joined McGrigors’ in 2003 and took responsibility for McGrigors’ Learning & Development and graduate functions before the business merged with Pinsent Masons. Deborah’s current remit takes in graduate recruitment strategy, graduate development, lateral recruitment and e-learning UK-wide.”

Gary Anderson is the Graduate Programme Manager for Jacobs UK Limited and has been involved in Graduate Recruitment for the last 15 years. A Chartered member of CIPD he has been involved with AGR Scotland for the last 12 years and has also has a wider remit in his current role supporting engineering recruitment across the UK.

Lyndsay Bamber is the Graduate Recruitment Manager for Specsavers, specifically looking after the North Region. Lyndsay has sixteen years’ experience of agency and retail recruitment and joined Specsavers in 2013. Lyndsay's remit includes graduate attraction, the recruitment, development and retention of c.475 graduates along with early years, youth engagement and audiology graduates.

Mark Darley is Group HR Manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car covering Scotland and Northern Ireland. Mark has worked in graduate recruitment for over 12 years and has previously served on the AGR Advisory Council. As well as serving on the current AGR Scotland and The North Steering group he is a trustee for the Centre for Recording Achievement.

  • Kirstyn Love

Kirstyn Love is the Recruitment Manager for ScottishPower, with responsibility for the recruitment operations across the UK including graduate recruitment. Kirstyn joined ScottishPower in 2006 and holds extensive experience within recruitment and HR roles over the last fifteen years. Kirstyn has an Engineering degree, is BPS Level A and B qualified and has been involved with the AGR for the last twelve months.

Simon Pollard is a Co-Director of Smart Resourcing Solutions who provide consultancy and outsourcing services to early careers recruiters and universities. Simon has been a proactive member of the AGR starting during his time at HSBC serving the Retail Focus Group and being an inaugural member of the Advisory Board representing the Retail constituency. He was the Chair of the Scotland & the North group during 2016.
